Cuvées of Crozes Hermitage

Cuvée Albéric Bouvet

Cuvée Albéric Bouvet

A serious Syrah wine with a perfect balance

This cuvee is elaborated solely with old vines from the major terroirs of the Estate (Rochas, Monico, Terres rouges). The blending is firstly based on Syrah grapes whose early maturity brings feminity and spices to this civilized Syrah wine. This cuvee includes another Syrah style, more rustic, with ripe fruits and elegant tannins, which blends ideally with the first one. Finally, a deeper Syrah style, red fruits gorged, completes ideally Albéric Bouvet which, during its ageing, will give the pleasure of a noble Syrah, deep with a unique character. The revelation of the nicest terroirs from Gilles Robin Estate and the blending of every Syrah style are key to this cuvee.

Tasting of Cuvée Albéric Bouvet 2007
(Red wine - Crozes Hermitage AOC)

This wine shows a deep ruby colour. The nose is an explosion of black fruits: cassis, blackberry and jammy red fruits, then leather and tobacco notes. On the palate, liquorice comes first and shows the young age of the wine, then come the aromas that we found on the nose added to slightly oaky notes, baked toasts and smoky aromas. Concentrated with a nice acidity, this wine has silky and round tannins which show a promising ageing potential. A Crozes Hermitage with a beautiful ageing capacity which is already pleasant now at its lovely fruity stage.

The Wines

Albéric Bouvet 2003.
Very powerful tannins define this brawny crozes, with chewy, dark currant, plum, beef, tar, sanguine and iron flavours that course through thefinish. Shows serious depth, cut and terroir, but patience is required to see it at its best.quote
